We had offered assorted cookies in the cans with the design of a girl wearing a red hat under the brand Tivolina, which was also the company name, for long time since we started to sell in 1985.
To our delight, someone started to say, mainly outside Japan, that happiness came to those who ate the cookies, and such a belief has spread out among customers.
Then, the cookies of a girl-of-a-red-hat (“Akai Bohshi” in Japanese) started to be called as “Akai Bohshi of happiness” and have come to be loved as gifts for bridal and other important events in 20 countories in the world.
We highly appreciate our customers’ affection. We changed both the company name and brand name to Akai Bohshi, the nickname our customers have given to our products, in 2014.
